At the end of April Christine S helped the children plant some vegetables in the nursery's raised beds.
They had great fun planting potatoes, peas and carrots!
As always, the children really enjoyed their gardening but wanted to keep digging where they had been planting! Luckily we have our digging pit expressly for this purpose, so, with some netting kindly given to us by the estate gardeners we covered the raised beds, and the children continued their digging without interfering with our seedlings!
The older children have since planted pansies in the 2 tubs outside the front door, to take the place of our daffodils -showing our versatility, we are not just vegetable gardeners!
Last week, the younger children pitched in - having great fun clearing up some of the weeds in the nature area for future planting!
