Busy walking week!

On Tuesday, after baking cakes the day before the two year olds, dressed in their 'buzz site gear' high vis, took them and a home made card  round to the builders working on the school extension as a thank you for showing us around the building site the previous week. http://www.buzzsitegear.com/

They went on to enjoy a little tour of the village, seeing two fields of horses and a couple of dogs as they went. They also noted all of the shapes around them, circular road signs and pond and triangles and rectangles on a gate at the old vicarage.

The three  year olds (and some older twos)  did a sort of a treasure hunt on Thursday. Each had a sheet with photos of things to look out for on their walk.

They really enjoyed spotting the things as they walked - looking out for a road sign, post box and finally the church.

At the church they were given a bag of apples and came back to nursery andmade apple crumble for their tea!

Friday is a quieter morning which means we can take everyone out to enjoy our beautiful surroundings.

While Sharron and the older children ran on ahead to see how construction of the bonfire was coming along, Jayne was getting a good work out pushing the double buggy with 2 of our youngest children in.

We went on to see the sheep near the Brake Pool and collected pockets full of conkers. The two youngest clutched their conkers all the way back to nursery. Back at nursery the older children did counting and sorting activities with their conkers and more conker rolling paintings!
