Waitangi Day

Waitangi Day is New Zealand's national day, celebrated on 6th February. We have 2 families with New Zealand backgrounds and this year they helped us celebrate.

Ella Rose enjoyed showing everyone her mum's moari artefacts including a 'tiki'

Then her mum showed us how to make Anzac biscuits. The children enjoyed measuring out all of the ingredients and especially getting messy rolling them into balls and squashing them down!

While they were cooking we had two stories from New Zealand, one was about a kiwi and the children were able to pass round Aidan's toy kiwi as they listened.

Ella Rose handed the Anzac biscuits out for pudding. The children enjoyed all of the activities and would like to say a big thank you to the parents involved!
