Royal visit

Today we were extremely lucky to be visited by Sophie the Countess of Wessex.

The Countess came to Overbury to plant a tree as part of her role as honorary president of LEAF  (linking environment and farming) Sophie the Countess of Wessex came and spoke to the children about the crops and the products they make. The children wanted to know when she would wear her crown and dress. She told them that she wears them when she is at the palace as they are not very practical for walking around a farm.

The children from Overbury school joined us to buddy our school leavers in a treasure hunt around the orchard.

The children were very lucky to be invited to look at the helicopter whilst it was on the ground.

When it was time to go Sophie the Countess of Wessex made her way back to the helicopter ready to go home.
