British food fortnight and RHS soup share

The children have been celebrating British food fortnight for the past couple of weeks and we finished our celebrations by making Hulk soup along side the RHS soup share event

We started the celebration off by collecting some crab apples from the tree outside nursery. We made some savoury crab apple jelly that we put in our harvest collection basket.

We visited the church with our donations for the harvest festival to look at the displays of British food.

To make our soup we cut up a marrow that we had grown in the garden along with some peas, spinach and onions.

We used our special child friendly knives to ensure that we didn't cut ourselves.

The children decided, that because it was green, they would call it Hulk soup which we ate for our snack with some warm buttered toast.
