Grand Opening

On Monday 8th we took some of the older children to the official opening of the new building at Overbury C of E First School.

The children sat beautifully (that is not just my biased opinion, a number of other audience members came up especially to say how well they had done!)

There were speeches and then the school children did a dance and a song. The nursery children really enjoyed the performances!

After the special plaque was unveiled by Mr. Bossom, everyone (including our little group) did a circuit of the building 'beating the bounds'.

Led by the vicar we stopped in several places for little prayers. We even squeezed some learning in, counting the steps as we climbed them!

The children have really enjoyed watching the building going up (especially the diggers) and I am sure that many of them will enjoy using the new school buildings in the years to come.
