Fruit collecting in the Orchard

Today, after a few windy days, we took the children into the orchard to collect the fruit that had fallen off the trees. The gardening team are going to make some compost from the fallen fruit.

The children and staff went into the orchard to look for fallen fruit.

The children went on a hunt to find as much fruit as they could.

We then placed it in a wooden box ready for the gardeners to collect.

Even our very youngest children enjoyed helping.

Children benefit a great deal from being exposed to nature and the way things work. They learn so much about growth and decay, insects, as well as learning to take safe risks. To find out more about connecting with nature click here
