We’ve had a very busy and exciting couple of weeks at nursery, full of wonderful opportunities for the children to observe and learn about life cycles and minibeasts.

Today at nursery we celebrated the 100th birthday of the wonderful Sir David Attenborough by exploring the amazing animals and habitats he has taught the world so much about.

Thirteen days ago, Bonnie brought in a selection of eggs for us to observe. We borrowed an incubator from Paul and marked each egg with a small red dot so we could easily see when they had been rotated.

This morning, the whole nursery climbed back aboard the tractor trailer and set off to visit Farmer Jake at Park Farm as part of our new topic on farm animals. The journey up the hill was very bumpy, which made it all the more exciting!
Bluebell Woods

Last week, some of our Squirrels and Hedgehogs children enjoyed a very special adventure as we travelled by tractor trailer to visit the beautiful Bluebell Woods. The journey itself was lots of fun — the tractor ride was quite bumpy, which caused plenty of giggles and excitement along the way!

Harry came to talk to the children about composting. He installed a regular compost bin as well as a hot composter. He explained what we could put in them and how the hot composter works. Remembrance Day

Last week, the children made a special visit to the kitchen gardens to help Harry, our gardener, create a Poppy Cross to be displayed at the Church on Remembrance Sunday. They carefully chose leaves to stick on and arranged the poppies—it looked absolutely fantastic!
