The children have been busy exploring the wonderful world of birds through the story ‘Owl Babies’ and a variety of hands-on activities.

This week our nursery children have been immersing themselves in the much-loved story The Gruffalo’s Child, and it has inspired a wide range of exciting activities across the nursery.

This morning, we were delighted to welcome the children and staff from Overbury First School into the nursery for a festive visit. They brought plenty of Christmas cheer with them as they sang a selection of carols, before continuing on their way around the village.

On Monday, the children arrived in their cosy Christmas PJs and had a wonderful time joining in with a fun, festive PJ PE adventure delivered by Sprint Active.

This morning brought lots of excitement as the children climbed aboard the tractor and trailer for a special trip to the woods to choose our Christmas tree. When we arrived, we walked down the lane to where all the Christmas trees were growing.

Harry came to talk to the children about composting. He installed a regular compost bin as well as a hot composter. He explained what we could put in them and how the hot composter works.  The children collected the peelings and fruit waste in a bucket during the morning then took it to the composter.  We put some of the waste...

Last week, the children made a special visit to the kitchen gardens to help Harry, our gardener, create a Poppy Cross to be displayed at the Church on Remembrance Sunday. They carefully chose leaves to stick on and arranged the poppies—it looked absolutely fantastic!

This week we have been reading the story 'The Bonfire Dance' by Christopher Stokes and taking part in lots of fun firework themed activities. 

As Autumn arrives at nursery the children have been exploring a variety of natural resources.

This week, the children have been learning about the festival of Diwali.
