We are looking for an inspiring and dynamic deputy manager to work in our rural nursery where we spend lots of time outside exploring and fostering curiosity. The position involves acting as second in charge to the manager and assuming the managerial responsibilities at times during the week as well as during the managers' annual leave. This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to establish a good working partnership with the manager, with the ability to take on aspects of the leadership and to be completely conversant with all policies and procedures required for the successful day to day running of the nursery including being a deputy designated safeguarding lead. This position would be ideal for candidates that already have experience in a senior position. The ideal candidate will have high standards with experience of leadership whilst also being part of the team. The role will also require you to be able to demonstrate the following:-

Excellent leadership and organisational skills;

Experience of  working to and delivering the EYFS, planning in the moment and following the children's interests;

The ability to deliver high standards of care and learning;

Enthusiasm and imagination;

Knowledge of health and safety procedures and legislation;

Ability to act as a key person and be responsible for a group of children. You must enjoy being a hands on leader;

Good communication skills;

  • Enthusiasm for outdoor learning in all weathers.
  • Experience and knowledge of the EYFS
  • Experience of working with children aged 1 to 4 years
  • A current Paediatric First Aid Certificate
  • Attended recent Safeguarding Training.
