Spring Garden Jobs

The children have been lucky enough to make regular trips to Overbury Court's kitchen garden where Leigh and Tom have been showing them that it is time to prepare the garden for planting. So back at nursery, weeding has been carried out  in our nature garden so that we  can enjoy the spring daffodils from the main playroom. The two Christines and a group of enthusiastic helpers have replanted our herb tyre and done more weeding in our raised beds  and topped up the compost in them so that they are now ready for planting.

We found lots of mini beasts while digging, worms, ladybirds and snails and the children really enjoyed just watching the snails when we moved them onto one of the tyres for closer examination.

Back inside the children chose which vegetables they want to plant.

We will keep an eye on the progress on seedlings and hope to enjoy the fruits of our labours later in the year.
