Shapes in the environment

The children went on an adventure to look for shapes in the environment after a very cold night.

The first shape we found was a very large circle from a bucket of water.

The children then discovered a square from a box.

The children then found a shape that they couldn't name so we decided to call it a half moon shape.

We then found a rectangle shape that had lots of leaves frozen into it.

Finally the best fun of all was to smash the ice into the wheelbarrow.

Children learn about maths in a variety of ways through play and exploration. For other ways we help our children to learn about maths and mathematical terms in a fun way click here.
