The children were fascinated to learn about the creatures that live in our oceans, gardens and zoos, and we spent the day discovering how important it is to care for our planet and all living things.
Our creative table was full of excitement as the children designed and made beautiful handmade birthday cards for Sir David. We will be posting the cards to him to help celebrate this very special milestone birthday!

The children also enjoyed a variety of hands-on tuff tray activities inspired by wildlife and nature. One tuff tray transformed into an underwater seabed adventure filled with sea animals to explore and discover. The children loved the sensory element of the tuff tray and naming and talking about the creatures that live under the sea.

Another tuff tray encouraged the children to become little explorers as they searched for minibeasts hiding amongst leaves, sticks and natural materials. There was lots of excitement as they spotted insects and discussed where minibeasts like to live.

Our zoo animal tuff tray was also a firm favourite, where the children used their imaginations during small world play with a variety of zoo animals, pretending to be on a safari adventure.

It was a lovely day filled with curiosity, creativity and a shared appreciation for the natural world — a perfect way to honour Sir David Attenborough and the incredible work he has done inspiring generations to love and protect wildlife.
"If children don't grow up knowing about nature and appreciating it, they will not understand it. And if they don't understand it, they won't respect it. And if they don't protect it, who will?"
— David Attenborough
