Fun packed week

This week the children have been celebrating Dashain and talking about birds commonly found in the British countryside.

One of our dads is an officer in the  Gurkha regiment so we celebrated Dashain by wearing saris, traditional hats and making clay tea light holders to ward off evil spirits. The children had great fun dressing up.

The children looked through a book about Nepal to experience the beautiful colours of Dashain.

Everyone had great fun painting their pots and took their candles home to light and share with their family.

Our preschool children have been out and about looking for birds and making bird food to help them survive the Winter now food is becoming scarce.

They went on a bird treasure hunt to see how many different types of birds they could find.

The children made bird food then placed it onto the bird table in the nursery garden. We are hoping to see lots of birds enjoying the feast.

The children had a look at some of our bird books and decorated their own birds.

Why don't you have a look in your garden to see if you can spot any of the most commonly found British birds .
