Bluebell Woods

Last week, some of our Squirrels and Hedgehogs children enjoyed a very special adventure as we travelled by tractor trailer to visit the beautiful Bluebell Woods. The journey itself was lots of fun — the tractor ride was quite bumpy, which caused plenty of giggles and excitement along the way!

Before we arrived, we talked together about how to take care of the woods and protect the bluebells. The children learned how important it is to keep to the paths, as stepping on bluebells can damage them and stop them from growing back next year. We also reminded the children to look with their eyes rather than picking the flowers, so everyone can enjoy their beauty.

Once in the woods, the children showed fantastic listening skills and great respect for nature. We were very proud when a lovely older couple stopped to tell us how quiet and well-behaved the children were during our visit — what wonderful feedback!

While exploring, we also bumped into some children from our neighbouring nursery, Country Bumpkins. It was lovely to see familiar faces and share the experience of enjoying the woods together.

The children had a wonderful time exploring the natural surroundings, listening to the sounds of the woodland, and spotting the vibrant bluebells in bloom. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn about caring for our environment while enjoying the fresh air and beauty of nature.

We are so proud of how sensible and respectful the children were throughout the trip — well done, Squirrels and Hedgehogs!
