The children arrived full of excitement, proudly dressed as their favourite book characters. From brave superheroes and enchanting princesses to curious animals and classic tale favourites, it was a joy to see their imaginations come to life.
Throughout the day, the children shared the special books they had brought from home, and we enjoyed lots of cosy story sessions together, exploring new adventures and revisiting much-loved tales.
Our toddler group embraced their creativity and became budding authors for the day! Using a selection of pictures as prompts, they worked together to create their very own story.
"Once there was a dragon, scary dragon, who had no friends. A princess went on an aeroplane to visit the dragon. She put on her coat and pink shoes. She took the dragon some fruit. The dragon liked some grapes. The dragon gave a dinosaur some oranges, they are now friends."
The fun didn’t stop there — our staff joined in the celebrations too! The team dressed up as characters from the much-loved story 'The Colour Monster', bringing the book to life and helping the children explore different emotions in a fun and engaging way. The children loved to see us all dressed up as well.

World Book Day is always a special opportunity to celebrate our love of reading and to inspire a lifelong passion for books. Sharing stories supports language development, imagination, creativity, and confidence — and days like today truly highlight just how powerful storytelling can be.
Please keep an eye out for their World Book Day book token, which will be coming home today for you to enjoy spending together.
