It was such a special experience and a wonderful way to celebrate the arrival of some sun whilst watching past Grasshopper children.
We arrived early and spent some time waiting excitedly for the children to arrive. As the children gathered, we watched them carefully lay their flowers for the May Queen, creating a colourful and cheerful display. One of the highlights of the Afternoon was seeing the May Queen crowned with a beautiful flower crown. The Grasshopper children proudly danced first around the maypole with some of the year 5 children, while families, the school children and staff watched on with smiles.
After all the excitement and to cool down from being in the warm sunshine, we quietly snuck back to nursery for a well-earned ice lolly to help everyone cool down!
Thank you to everyone at Overbury C of E First School for inviting us to be part of such a lovely tradition. We had a fantastic time and made some very happy memories.
